CALA FIGUERA
Cala Figuera is a little fishing village with only a few hundred residents, about 300. To its coast belong
wonderful beaches and rugged cliffs, located on the southeast cost of Majorca. It is only 50 Km far from the
city (Palma de Mallorca) and it takes 40 minutes from the airport.
Villa Primera apartments are situated at the beginning of this village, accessing from the main street, very close
of the children play ground.
The fishing port shows a wealth of beautifully natural land-and-seascapes which have picturesque entice for a great
deal of foreign and local artists. It is lying in the unspoilt Mediterranean environment, with people working there
every day and ships commuting to the sea. In fact, the port itself, is set at head of an excellent scenery called by a
lot of tourists who have visited it: "The Venice from Majorca"
Tourists who come to the Island should feel obliged to visit this wonderful place because local people think this is a
privileged place for living.
Although it is a quiet village for residents, Cala Figuera is an alive nice place where travellers will find many chances
for their enjoyment, either in individualistic or in quiet family holidays. For those ones who are more active, trekking
and angling are possible. Also sport activities with instructors at open-air in the summer time: diving centre, horse riding
and tennis courts. Other kind of sports to spend your time and enjoy here: Golf courses and communal in-door swimming pool nearby.
The weekly-guided trip programme in summer is on hiking, coach excursions around the island, coastal boat trips, trips to
Cabrera Island with boat and balloon outings.
But if you decide to take your own itinerary you will easily find wonderful paths, hire a car, motorbikes, scoters, bikes or
other means of public transport.
There is a very good time to explore the island, when the warm spring weather with flowered almond trees arrives. Also, good time
for visiting museums and heritage of Palma city, town festivals and local markets.
A high quality and varied gastronomy of the local restaurants offer typical meals of Majorcan, Spanish and International cuisine. They
are served in/out doors and some of them to take away.
There are plenty of restaurants with special sea-fresh fish menu which must be considerate for their quality due to their own fishing boats!

The white fine sand beaches on the south part of the island are easily accessible with parking facilities and other public
services. The nearest beach is situated at 2 km from Cala Figuera: Cala Santanyí beach (tourist beach) which is connected
by a mini-train service. S'Amarador beach is situated in the nature reserve of Mondragó Park, also connected by a mini-train. Es Trenc
beach (natural), Cala Llombards (tourist beach) and Cala S'Almunia (a small rocky bay).
In the area around the village there are various attractions including:
ES PONTAS:A large, rocky arch situated just off the coastline, near Cala Santanyí beach.
PARQUE NATURAL MARÍTIMO-TERRESTRE DE MONDRAGÓ: Mondragó is a nature reserve since 1992, situated at the East of the island, with two lovely beaches (S'Amarador and Sa Font de Nalis).
SA TORRE DE'N BEU-PUERTO DE CALA FIGUERA: An observation tower situated at the port entrance of Cala Figuera, from where you can watch a beautiful outlook because of its 45-meters-high cliffs.
SANTUARIO DE CONSOLACIÓ:
This is a sanctuary on the Consolació peak. The masses are only on Sundays and Feast Days, but weekdays is open. This sanctuary is overlooking to the land-and-seascape, with the Cabrera islands at the South side.
IGLESIA DE SANT ANDREU: Sant Andreu church is situated in the Major square of Santanyí (Plaza Mayor). It was built adjacent to the El Roser Chapel, which is in gothic
style. In its inside does still preserve a beautiful large organ from the 18th century.
